Bridge the Gap – Chesterfield Foodbank’s Summer Crowdfunder page

Chesterfield Foodbank has launched its new Bridge the Gap Crowdfunder campaign, raising vital funds to help us continue supporting local people facing financial hardship.

We are also delighted to announce that Aviva Community Fund has once again agreed to match eligible donations up to £250* each. This presents a fantastic opportunity for our supporters to make their Foodbank donations go even further.

For every eligible £1 donated through the Crowdfunder, Aviva could add another £1, meaning a £10 donation could become £20, £50 could become £100 and £250 could become £500.

The campaign will remain open until 20 September 2026.

Helping local people overcome hardship

Chesterfield Foodbank provides much more than emergency food. Donations help us provide essential items and connect people with advice, practical assistance and wider support through our Support Hubs and community partnerships.

People coming to the Foodbank may be facing difficulties involving debt, benefits, housing, energy costs, employment, illness, bereavement, mental health or an unexpected change in circumstances.

Every donation helps us respond with compassion and practical support while working alongside local organisations to help people address the wider challenges they are experiencing.

Bakewell Inflatable Challenge

One of our team, Jacq, has signed up to take part in the Bakewell Inflatable Challenge on Saturday 12 September 2026 to raise money for Chesterfield Foodbank.

Jacq will be stepping well outside her comfort zone as she tackles a course involving bouncing, climbing, sliding and crawling. Fortunately, she has managed to rope in her brother, sister-in-law, nephew and nieces, who will be taking on the challenge alongside her.

Jacq says, “To me, this inflatable obstacle event symbolises some of the hurdles and challenges faced by many local people every day. While this event will last just a few hours and hopefully involve plenty of fun and laughter along the way, many people in our community are facing much tougher obstacles in their daily lives.”

Anyone wishing to support this fundraising initiative can donate through our Bridge the Gap Crowdfunder. Eligible donations may also benefit from Aviva matchfunding, helping your support make an even greater difference.
