- learners must be 19 before 01/09/2024
- learners must have a NI number and ID (either a passport or birth certificate to be enrolled)
- learners must be unemployed and not studying any other courses.
- Learners must have been in the EU/UK for the last 3 years.
- If the course is Online, Learners must have access to either a laptop, pc or tablet
- Additionally, we can’t accommodate learners on a course if they have the same qualification that we are delivering.

Learners can be in receipt of a benefit or not
Must not have completed these qualifications previously
A learners Maths and English working level must be at least an Entry Level 3.
Learners must have a valid form of ID & access to the correct identification to access funding. An in date passport, driving license or birth certificate.

Service Development Officer
Carer’s Financial Wellbeing Project
- Part time 18.5 hours
- Initially funded until 31/03/2026
- Based at Mercian Close, Ilkeston, but likely to involve home working and travel to other locations.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a new post supporting the financial needs of unpaid carers in Derbyshire.
The role is based within the Public Health department at Derbyshire County Council, to work closely alongside the Welfare Rights Service and Derbyshire Carers Association and joins a wide range of activity to address social, economic and environmental factors which impact on people’s health. The purpose of the role is to work to improve the financial wellbeing of unpaid carers.
Key aims of the project are:
- to promote sources of financial support for carers, by organising and attending drop-in sessions, coffee mornings, roadshow events etc in partnership with Derbyshire Carers Association
- to respond to referrals for support by providing advice, signposting to specialist services and supporting individuals to apply for grant funding where applicable, alongside colleagues from Derbyshire’s Welfare Rights Service
We welcome applications from candidates with a diverse range of experience, for example in areas such as: public health, health improvement, housing, third sector, advice work, community development work or working with financially excluded people. Whatever their background, the right candidate will have a proven track record of partnership working, an ability to work on their own initiative and judgement and have a strong drive to reduce inequality and improve health
