Other volunteering opportunities in Chesterfield
Would you like to play your part in helping people in your community play tennis for free at your local park? Your support could be the reason someone picks up a racket for the first time and discovers our amazing sport for life.
The Lawn Tennis Association are looking to launch Barclays Free Park Tennis sessions at King George V Playing Fields in Staveley and are recruiting volunteers to train as volunteer Parks Activators. The activators work as part of a local team to plan and lead fun activities on court.
Activators can be someone looking to take their first step on the coaching pathway, or someone who simply wants to give something back after time spent enjoying tennis. The benefits of becoming an activator include:
- Free online training – Gain all the knowledge and resources you need to run fun sessions at your local park courts.
- Free tennis equipment – We’ll provide you with an equipment bag that includes rackets, balls, markers, and everything else you need.
- Free hoodie – Once you’ve completed your training, we’ll send you a Free Park Tennis hoodie to wear during your sessions
You don’t need to be a coach or even have much experience playing tennis — if you are 16+ you can become a Barclays Free Park Tennis Activator.

If you would like to discuss this opportunity, please contact Paul Hatton on [email protected]
The sessions wouldn’t take place without the amazing work of activators, and we hope that you will join the local team.
Thank you in advance.
Thanks
Paul
