How our Support Hub works for Guest Agencies
Chesterfield Foodbank works collaboratively with local organisations to increase joined-up care in our community.
At our foodbank centres, Guest Agencies can book a slot on our Guest Agency Rota so that people visiting us (both Foodbank and Pre-Foodbank clients) can access face-to-face help, support and guidance during their visit. This early access to specialist support helps address many of the underlying issues that contribute to foodbank use, including but not limited to:
- mental and physical health and wellbeing
- carer status
- energy and utilities advice
- recovery and empowerment following trauma or abuse
- addictions support
- budgeting, affordable loans and savings
- homelessness prevention
- employment and training
- social activities and volunteering opportunities
- palliative care & bereavement
What to expect:
The volunteer briefing takes place 30 minutes before each session opens. This is a valuable opportunity for Guest Agencies to introduce themselves and their services to our volunteer team so that our signposting volunteers can encourage guests to visit your table during the session.
We provide a table and chairs, and we welcome you to bring any banners, merchandise, tablecloths or leaflets to help you showcase your organisation.
