Thank You For Everything In 2018

In 2018, the Chesterfield foodbank provided food and toiletries for 3110 adults and 1260 children, over 43,000 meal equivalents and a 59% increase on the food and toiletries provided in 2017. The unprecedented demand meant that the foodbank was running short of many food items by the middle of this year. Peak FM helped us by running a foodbank campaign in late July/August 2018 prompting a surge of food giving, over fifty local schools and churches then ran harvest collections and donated over 5 tonnes of food, Tesco shoppers donated 4 tonnes of food at the end of November and a further 3 tonnes of food was donated at Christmas collections. In total, 37 tonnes of food was donated to the Chesterfield foodbank in 2018, enough to meet the demand for 2018 and for part of 2019.
